The Squadron Sponsoring Committee (SSC) is the Squadron's civilian partner, and functions as a non-profit charitable organization. The SSC funds activities to supplement the training provided by the Department of National Defence and to cover the cost of rent, utilities, facility maintenance and improvement.
Made up of community volunteers, the Committee consists of a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer who serve three-year terms. Serving one-year terms are our fundraising coordinator, recruitment coordinator, intake coordinator, property manager, power flight coordinator, canteen supervisor, cadet activities and awards coordinator, tag day coordinator, media liaison and three members-at-large, who assist the SSC and coordinate with our parent committee. All SSC members are required to obtain police clearances.
In addition to the committee itself, we have a dedicated group of parents who make up our Parent Committee and provide support to the SSC and cadets. As all SSC positions are full at the present time, any people interested in supporting the unit are welcome to join our Parent Committee.
We are always looking for partners and participants who can help us achieve our goals. If interested, contact us at [email protected]. To help us in our fundraising efforts, please click on the FUNDRAISING tab.
