When can I join?
The training curriculum starts in September each year and goes through June. New cadets are accepted at any time during the training year.
Our schedule closely follows the elementary/secondary school year. Regular training is on Tuesday evenings with specialized training on weekends. Training breaks coincide with school closures; for example, during the two week break at the end of December/beginning of January the squadron is on stand down.

How much does the program cost?
Cadets are assessed an administration fee of $200 each training year. This fee covers the charge levied against each cadet by the Air Cadet League of Canada to support the Cadet Flying Program. The administration fee also provides funding for optional training and helps support the training facility.
Cadets are also required to participate in fundraising activities to support the Squadron. Questions regarding program cost can be directed to the Squadron Sponsoring Committee, the Squadron's civilian partner, at [email protected].
Am I expected to join the Canadian Armed Forces?
Absolutely not! The Canadian Cadet Organizations is a para-military youth program delivered by the Department of National Defence to youth in the community. Cadets are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces nor is this training or a pathway into the CAF. Air cadets will be introduced to the air activities of the Royal Canadian Air Force as part of their training, but that's it.
Can I use my time at the Squadron towards my community service hours?
Yes. Some aspects of cadets can be used towards completion of your volunteer requirements for your Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
